As dependable as an old friend, all of the stuff that was wrong with season one is still wrong with it this time down the road—and, yes, especially the hair. Go to Full Review

It took me to the very end to determine "Firefly Lane" is just an obvious retelling of "Beaches." Go to Full Review

The series is about 8 episodes too long, the wigs are uniformly awful, and the writing is barely worthy of Lifetime, but it works in fits and starts thanks to Sarah Chalke and Katherine Heigl and the believable friendship between their characters. Go to Full Review

Kat S @KatShay Jun 6 Late to the party on this one, but it's so worth showing up for. I wasn't immediately drawn to this series, but someone whose taste I trust recommended it, so I thought I'd at least watch the first episode. I ended up binging all of it in a short time frame! I can't properly put into words the emotional impact this beautiful story had on me. I think I'm still processing. The acting in this series was so excellent. The way the cast fully embodied their characters was amazing. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because of the choice of having the middle-aged actresses play college kids for the college scenes. I could suspend belief for them being in their mid-to-late twenties for the early news station scenes, but college was a bridge too far, even with CGI. Thankfully, though, there were only a few scenes from the college era, so it didn't overshadow the deeply moving experience of watching this series. Highly recommend, and kudos to everyone involved in this project. See more Linda C @RT47812818 04/16/2025 I've read the book first, then watched the series. It basically follows the book, but not totally. That, I was disappointed in. But if the series is watched first, without reading the book, then the rating would be different. See more Phemelo M @RT84640703 01/26/2025 You'll never go wrong with this one 🤞 See more Namechange B @RT24104496 02/13/2024 There were WAY too many time changes. I eventually started skipping through the flashbacks. If the scenes had been put in order with only occasional flashbacks and flash forwards, I might have watched the entire show.. which was otherwise good enough. See more Larry L @RT98003913 11/15/2023 I'm a bit of a sap, but I really enjoyed this show. I'll admit I'm a huge Katherine Heigl fan. While I love her, I never thought she was a great actress... but I think she was great in this show. Sarah Chalke as Kate Mularkey also did an outstanding job. I did think the show changed time frames to frequently. I did however, really like the telling of the story when the girls were young. It is probably pretty rare for two people to have such a long and loving relationship... something I'm jealous of. I will miss Tully and Kate. Ali Skovbye As Young Tully Hart and Roan Curtis As Young Kate Mularkey were really good, and heart warming to see their relationship develop.
