After a sailing lesson with Penny, Norman disregards her warning and takes Dilys out for a boat trip. When they become stranded with only one oar, Charlie heads to the rescue but ends up bumping into them. On dry land, Station Officer Steele finds himself stuck on the roof of the Floods' house trying to rescue his new kite. Elvis sets off to help Steele down from the roof and Penny and Sam save Charlie, Norman and Dilys from the water.
Norman is upset when Trevor accidentally runs over his skateboard. Not prepared to wait until his birthday for a new board, Norman decides to retrieve coins from the bottom of a wishing well and buy one himself. But when Norman becomes trapped, Sam must use the abseiling skills he has just learned from Tom to rescue him.
Elvis breaks his leg dancing around the Fire Station and begins to wonder if he is really cut out to be a fireman. But when Mike Flood ends up dangling precariously from his roof and Norman gets his head stuck in railings, it is down to Elvis to wheel himself to the rescue and prove that he has what it takes to be a fireman after all.
While playing hide-and-seek in the mountains with Norman, Mandy finds a distress flare. Norman wants to let it off but Mandy resists, fearing that it could be dangerous. When they discover Penny stranded on the cliff, they use the flare to raise the alarm. It is up to Sam, Elvis and Tom to rescue Penny.
For the Pontypandy Flower and Vegetable show, Mike is entering a marrow that he has been growing on his compost heap. But he did not heed Sam's advice about turning over his compost regularly, so when he removes his marrow the air gets into the heap and it starts a fire!
Trevor's bus swerves off the road so he goes looking for help. But the cell phones aren't receiving a signal and he gets stuck - with a beast about.
Trevor Evans and Tom Thomas have a barbecue but when they start to get a bit competitive, Trevor sets fire to the tree - Sam must come to the rescue!
Everyone is looking forward to karaoke night. When Mike and Station Officer Steele get into binds while working, everyone rushes to help make sure they get back to the Whole Fish Cafe in time.
Sam cannot wait to get home and do his chores once he has finished work. But he will have to wait, when one thing leads to another at Dilys' shop.
Norman and Mandy discover a baby whale stranded on the beach. Sam, Penny, and Tom Thomas save the day!
