It is Fire Prevention Day in Pontypandy, but Norman has other things on his mind. He wants to spend his time making paper aeroplanes. One of his planes accidentally causes a fire in the station kitchen, burning Elvis's stew!
Mike doesn't believe that Radar is a rescue dog, but he is soon proved wrong after he falls and breaks his arm in the Whole Fish Cafe cellar.
When she goes camping with Norman and Trevor, Dilys is spooked by her son's scary tales and in her panic starts a forest fire! It is too far away from the road for Jupiter's hose to reach, so Tom is called for in the helicopter. Will he be able to put the fire out?
After Sam and Tom put up signs warning everyone about some unsafe paths near the cliffs, Norman takes Mandy in search of a golden eagle. But in his eagerness he ignores the signs and they become trapped! Fortunately Radar raises the alarm and Sam and Tom come to the rescue.
Mandy decides to make a movie with Norman starring as a super hero. Sarah, who is playing the damsel in distress, is so convincing at screaming for help that Charlie rushes to her rescue, only to get caught up in his lobster pots and left dangling over the side of the boat! Who will rescue him?
Christmas fun with the friendly fireman and the villagers of Pontypandy. Norman festoons the supermarket with so many lights that the electric sockets become overloaded. He and Dilys are out at the time, chasing a flyaway Santa that they were trying to fix to the roof. The call-out to the fire coincides with another for the lifeboat - to rescue an old man in a red coat spotted overboard in the bay..
Norman accidentally traps his foot in some rocks while out collecting mussels on the beach. Charlie, Sarah and James try all they can to dislodge it, but his foot is stuck fast. With the tide rising, can Sam find a way to free him?
The boiler in the Wholefish Cafe isn't working, so Sarah takes Woolly's new lamb out for a walk in the pram. Lambikins is so well wrapped up that everyone thinks it's a real baby! Later, when Sarah's jumper catches fire on the electric heater, Charlie makes the same mistake. After evacuating everyone from the cafe, he is sure he can hear a baby crying inside.
It's washing day in Pontypandy. In his house, Norman crams everything into the machine to do in one wash, then goes out to play. Mike is annoyed to be called away from his ironing to fix the overloaded machine, but soon discovers that he is less than perfect himself when Sam is called to put out a fire started by the iron at his house.
When Sarah, James and Bronwyn find a wishing well in the woods, they are so busy making wishes that they do not notice that Lion the cat has fallen in! The next day Lion still hasn't turned up, so Sarah and Bronwyn go back to wish for their cat's return and hear a miaow. But how can they get Lion out? Once more, it's Sam to the rescue.
