Critic reviews for Family of Rogues
This is the age of ensemble-cast TV; and in an effort to give the spotlight to all of its characters, The Flash sometimes forgets that it's Barry we most want to see using his wits to solve problems.
The Flash was up to its old tricks again, moving faster than humanly possible from one plot point to the next. At times it seemed to be moving a bit too fast, using its superhuman agility to smooth over what would otherwise have been a lackluster episode.
I just had gotten so used to that ol' Flash magic in the latter half of season one, that maybe I got a little spoiled.
A lot is happening on The Flash as has become the norm for the show, and it's refusing to relent, even if it takes pauses to tell stories of the characters surrounding our leading hero.
Anytime Wells appears, my issues with the show tend to disappear.
Of all of its TV superhero brethren, The Flash may be the one most overtly about family and the many forms it comes in. Sometimes family is the group you were born into, and at other times, it's a group you find along the way.
