Free Agents: Season 1 (2010)

Critic Consensus: Free Agents' humor is nasty and bitter, with little to like about its characters and a lack of chemistry between the actors playing them.

Tv Season Info

Talent agency rom-com "Free Agents" has been turned into a series of its own. Stephen Managan (Green Wing) and Sharon Horgan (Pulling) star as the luckless-in-love Alex and Helen. After unexpectedly spending the night together, the pair still need to muster up some professionalism for their jobs at glamorous talent agency CMA. Which is easier said than done with the eccentric, sex-obsessed Stephen (Anthony Head) in charge.

Free Agents is a niftily scripted, bracingly grownup comedy when in the hands of its two leads.

"Free Agents" is anything but funny.

An unpleasant show about miserable people working in an environment (corporate public relations) that's about as welcoming as Chernobyl.

Some of the dialogue is clever but it's more savvy than it is hilarious and viewers come to broadcast network comedies for the funny stuff.
