Free Agents: Season 1 (2010)

TOMATOMETER

Critic Consensus: Free Agents' humor is nasty and bitter, with little to like about its characters and a lack of chemistry between the actors playing them.

Tv Season Info

Talent agency rom-com "Free Agents" has been turned into a series of its own. Stephen Managan (Green Wing) and Sharon Horgan (Pulling) star as the luckless-in-love Alex and Helen. After unexpectedly spending the night together, the pair still need to muster up some professionalism for their jobs at glamorous talent agency CMA. Which is easier said than done with the eccentric, sex-obsessed Stephen (Anthony Head) in charge.

"Free Agents" has a strong premise, solid characters, good chemistry and some great one-liners.

Free Agents is a niftily scripted, bracingly grownup comedy when in the hands of its two leads.

"Free Agents" is anything but funny.

Sep 14, 2011 | Rating: 1/4 | Full Review…

An unpleasant show about miserable people working in an environment (corporate public relations) that's about as welcoming as Chernobyl.

Sep 14, 2011 | Full Review…

Comedy is supposed to be funny, and "Free Agents" is not.

Sep 14, 2011 | Rating: 1/4 | Full Review…

Painfully flat American version of a British comedy.

Sep 14, 2011 | Rating: D | Full Review…

It's virtually impossible to care about the characters, and not only is the show without a single laugh line, its attempts at humor come off as brittle and nasty.
