In Bee's welcome approach, "women's issues" are presented as inseparable from "real" politics, but it's her resistance to making nice that lends the show its jagged energy.
February 12, 2016
With Bee joining the fray as host of a weekly show on TBS, the new energy reaches a greater level of appeal.

If Samantha Bee's game plan for Full Frontal, her new TBS late-night show that debuted Monday night, was to leave the audience wanting more, she certainly succeeded.
February 10, 2016
Samantha Bee's Full Frontal debuted... with an acerbic, bracing premiere that felt like, in the best way possible, a much-needed slap in the face.
February 9, 2016
Bee's program is one more 'publication' added to an increasingly crowded TV newsstand, but it already feels distinctive enough to merit regular check-ins, if not yet a DVR season pass.
February 9, 2016
In fact, Full Frontal's first episode was such a welcome jolt of energy that you might wish the show was airing every day.

There's a sense watching the premiere of Full Frontal that it has arrived fully realized. That Bee's singular, pointed perspective is chiseling through some sort of glass ceiling and her voice is bellowing through it, full-throated and clear.

This is what Bee was so good at on The Daily Show, combining absurdist humor and a razor-sharp sense of timing with legit interviewing skills for terrific field pieces.

Bee has to be both the subversive jester and the likable host. Not an easy job, but thus far she seems to be up to the task.

There's one pocket of progressive scorn I can't help but love, though: the recently launched Full Frontal With Samantha Bee, which debuted six weeks ago and has been killing it from the very first episode.
February 12, 2016
Bee had a very strong first show, chowing down on the low-hanging fruit that is both sides of this current presidential election.
February 12, 2016
Calling hers a much-needed female voice is faint-praise damnation, however. Bee's voice might fit that description, but it's also so much more - sharp, educated, engaged, enraged, comedically fearless and strategically profane.
February 10, 2016
The no-holds barred series offers lots of fun, irreverent humor with a feminist flair.

All those fans who worried that The Daily Show's go-for-the-jugular political satire left when host Jon Stewart departed last year can rest easy because Samantha Bee is bringing the pain just like Stewart used to.
February 9, 2016
If the premiere is any indication, Full Frontal will be required weekly viewing.

One show. One woman. One smart, sharp and very funny voice.
February 9, 2016
Bee delivered a promising and pointed debut, demonstrating that when it comes to political satire, she can sting with the best of them.
February 9, 2016
If the first episode of Full Frontal is any indication, Samantha Bee won't be feeling the pain, she'll be bringing it.
February 9, 2016
If Full Frontal were going to be on every night, I would say, unreservedly, that it had a fantastic beginning.
February 9, 2016
If Bee can sustain the tone she presented in this premiere episode, Full Frontal is going to be an exhilarating pleasure.
