With Madonna-meets-Xanadu art direction, Glow creates a vivid world of high-cut leotards and failed ambition.

You'll find you've watched almost the whole series in a single sitting, and it's 1am, and you're still not sure if it's any good. Which probably, I think, means it is.

[A]charming, low-key series.

GLOW is fast and funny, furious and absurd. And I couldn't stop watching.

Netflix's wrestling drama GLOW is funny, poignant, and wonderfully acted, but what makes it really interesting is how aware it is of its own contradictions.
June 29, 2017
If it had only allowed you to turn off the bits of your brain that notice horrendous flaws, perhaps GLOW could have been more open about what it truly is: a problematic riot -- but one that's by no means here to change anything.

[Its] sense of showmanship makes Glow glitter with a sense of pure fun.
June 27, 2017
It's smartly plotted, with characters that deepen in the course of the show. But, refreshingly, in our era of homework TV, it's also a joyride.

It's highly recommended. Netflix is a mess, GLOW is a bit messy, but a very appealing kind of mess.

To call it a feel-good hit would be a bit reductive and presumptive, but "GLOW" deserves all the love and respect thrust upon it. Sit back, turn it up, and enjoy.

This new interpretation of GLOW... is packed with an excellent ensemble cast... sharp commentary on gender and racial stereotypes, and an awesomely '80s soundtrack. It's also just plain fun.
June 23, 2017
A riot of hairspray, Spandex, butt-kick females and pure joy.
June 23, 2017
GLOW shows that it knows its own world well by providing a true '80s style montage in the auditions for the G.L.O.W. Girls, introducing a cast of characters you instantly want to spend more time with.

There's a Police Academy vibe to the whole thing, and the heartiest guffaws are delivered by the quirkiest co-stars.
June 23, 2017
GLOW fully owns its campiness and its showy aesthetics, but it's smart and subversive underneath the glitter.

GLOW is terrific, but how could it be otherwise? The source material alone makes this an instant winner.

In the same way the wrestling league surprised viewers 30 years ago, viewers may be surprised to find Netflix's GLOW is one of the best new shows they'll see this summer.
June 23, 2017
All of this is bundled into an entertaining, amusing and at times poignant first season that also has some wretched excesses and predictable turns.

Before the 10 episodes are over, you'll be taking the characters and their relationships and problems very seriously.
June 22, 2017
As the title implies, GLOW wins top ranking by serving up a sensational story that's brilliant for summer, but timeless as well.
