Melinda Gordon (Jennifer Love Hewitt) sees dead people in this supernatural series, which finds her helping the spirits resolve their earthbound problems so that they continue on to the other side. Series 2 opens with Andrea (Aisha Tyler) unwilling to wrap up her stay on Earth due to the influence of the mysterious entity who's interfered with the journeys of other souls Melinda has met. Other ghosts that Melinda helps: a man (Kevin Weisman) with autism; a spirit (David Paymer) whose body was buried in the wrong grave; a professor (Reed Diamond) who died on an expedition; and, in an episode that features Mary J. Blige, a cheerleader (Rhea Lando) who's disrupting her former team.
