Critic Reviews for Ghostwriter Part 1

A watchable little fantasy-mystery series that aims to get kids reading children's classics again -- for the fun of it and for the relevance the books still have to children's lives.
That said, adult viewers, in general, need not apply... The cinematography is really lovely, and the ghost-related visual shenanigans are engaging, but there are no sly jokes for the adults in the room here.
This show's aimed at the 8-12 age group and while early episodes are a bit too serious, they get much more fun the further into it you get.
Notable reboot brings book characters into kids' lives.
The kids are fantastic in their well-written roles, and the effects accentuate the stories, rather than overload the eyes. Most importantly, the show puts literature in the front seat.
Ghostwriter is a great example of why Sesame Workshop is one of the best creators of kids' programming out there. They keep shows smart, with clever dialogue and complex writing.

Nov 09, 2019It's really nice to see a show for children that is not dumbed down for kids. I think children and their parents will really enjoy this show together. Quite solid quality of special effects for a children's show, too.
