Season 1
Glory Daze

Critics Consensus

A middling retread of Animal House-style college comedies, Glory Daze is notably short on interesting characters and original jokes.

The worst new series of the season, falling just short of stupendously bad before settling for remarkably stupid.

Take Legally Blonde, Van Wilder, Animal House, Slackers...we forgetting anyone? Oh right, Revenge of the Nerds" and put in blender. Hit high-speed button. Pour. Serve at room temperature.

Forced setup, predictable joke. Welcome to Glory Daze.

Though grateful not to have been hit over the head with a Rubik's Cube, I am slightly mystified as to why the series' creators bothered.

It's an average piece of work, crammed with every frat-boy cliche you can imagine, and cast with actors who don't initially stand out.

Despite being set in the past, the positive messages it sends about friendship, loyalty, and finding one's own way in life are timeless.

The characters are decisively vanilla, unmemorable and vaguely rendered.

It's not bad enough for me to get worked up about its ineptitude, but its creative laziness and unapologetically derivative trappings make it impossible to endorse.

Nov 16, 2010 | Full Review…

It's not funny enough, the characters don't make much of an impression and the Porky's-style humor is too tame to have the requisite impact.

The laziness of the song choices in Glory Daze speaks to a larger laziness in the show itself.
