What works best is Guillaume's point of view, corroded by the shadows that afflict him. [Full review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

Without the dramatic arcs and twists that episodic drama really needs to engage viewers, Gone for Good is for mystery fans only. Go to Full Review

I'm willing to cut Gone for Good some slack re: those plot holes. In recompense, the show has some beautiful shots of the French Riviera and a topical subplot about neo-Nazis and the far-right... Go to Full Review

For now, it's so far, so good, from the solid performances of Oldfield and Harzoune to a story that gets really interesting, really quickly. Go to Full Review

Joe G Jul 14 I really wanted to enjoy Gone for Good—the story is intriguing, and the acting is acceptable—but I was seriously put off by how almost every major character smokes constantly. This show is set in 2020, not 1950. By now, everyone knows how deadly smoking is, yet it’s portrayed here as if it’s normal or even cool. It felt unnecessary and out of step with the times. Rather than adding realism or depth, it distracted from the plot and glamorized a lethal addiction. I expect better choices from a platform like Netflix. Research shows this kind of legitimization of smoking actively damages kids and teens by encouraging them to smoke. I remember adverts for Peter Stuyvesant cigarettes in 1975 that sent this message. Why is Netflix doing the same thing in 2025? See more Jontue K 02/26/2024 Could have been great if it wasn't for such poor direction. It started off great ands quickly turned. It jumps all over the place to the point where you just lose interest because you're completely lost. I quithalf way through because I was exhausted with trying to keep up. See more Paul D @LVHothead 08/09/2023 Truly awful! The dialogue is so bad, and the actors are so uninteresting, and the storyline is so disjointed and confusing. This is a complete waste of time. See more Mike M @mmx554 01/29/2023 Started well and then got rather difficult to follow in the middle. See more Richard B 06/16/2022 Gone Not Good The French love American noir, but this cheesy version of Harlan Coben's Gone For Good ain't great. It starts off well, sticking to the plot, then decides it knows better than the master of the 'hook and twist.' Loose ends are flapping throughout this 5 part adaptation, no Tell No One (a great example of French adaptation). Like all Coben, it is the past that is murky and awful, and it emerges once more. The series lacks tension because of the constant flashbacks. It renders the plot incomprehensible until the final episode, and by then, it's too late. It's not the move to Nice that kills this, it's the over-complex plot and the flashbacks. Someone should have told them, stick to the book. See more 02/23/2022 Good but not as good as the other Harlan Coben adaptations. It's worth the watch but it falls a bit flat in the final act. See more Read all reviews
