It's an interesting premise, but the problem is that Goodbye Earth has too many narratives playing out at once, many of which aren't fully fleshed out. Go to Full Review

While Goodbye Earth delivers great characters and some powerful human moments, it makes the audience earn them…If you can get past this intro [you're] rewarded with a series that explores hope, despair, love, and resilience in a uniquely authentic way. Go to Full Review

Goodbye Earth isn’t perfect, and the required investment will be off-putting to some, but it’s a compellingly human take on the disaster format. Go to Full Review

See more Jinnette M Nov 12 It was painfully boring and the ending was terrible. See more ARGENTVS l @ARGENTVS Mar 18 It's good, slow but good. People are not understanding it. The series is indeed slow, it took me to chapter 5 to start understanding, caring for the characters and getting hooked. People who rated it low don't get it. The end is very clear. I find it similar to Melancolia (2011). It is meant to be like that. You are to be in despair, dissapointed and most of all, hopeless. It is meant to leave you completely impotent, with the feeling of powerlessness before impending and unavoidable doom. The characters are living in complete despair, in world where everyone knows when and how they will die without at ounce of chances to do something about it. One of the most depressing and mind breaking things one can imagine. You are left like that, they can't do anything about it and we see people doing evil things or trying to get to the end the best they can or completely ignore it. It is about that, the last months of people through the lenses of a small city leftovers. SYNOPSIS: 'An examination of despair and hope in individuals aware of an asteroid hurtling towards Earth, signifying the end of the world.' Unfortunately like a lot of these recent South Korean series' this one doesn't hit the heights of what's come before. And with 'Goodbye Earth' there's nothing really original here, however interesting the premise might be. The biggest problem this series has though is that it has too many narratives playing out at once, many of which aren't fully fleshed out. There's too much going on with little control on the story line. Really disappointingly. 4/10 See more iokibe t 05/12/2024 Very very slow. Some of the characters are well developed but with this slow pace, it is inexcusable that the plot and most of the characters are so underdeveloped. It is seemingly interesting plot but very disappointing. See more Nic T 05/06/2024 One of the slowest shows I've ever watched, 12 episodes I couldn't get past number 4 and just gave up, The story was all over the place, history then present but the switch between was not well executed, and jumped too much from one character to another, just too messy and painfully slow for my liking. I skipped from the 4th to last episode to see if it at least had an interesting finish, found myself fast forwarding by about the 15 minute mark of final episode - I never skip through, I can't handle missing content but with this show it iss one of the only times i had to do it. I couldn't handle how overplayed and dragged out the scenes were, like nearly every scene was dragged out too long making it excruciatingly slow.... concept sounded interesting, however execution failed extensively. Probably could have been better if only 6 episodes or even 4 might have been enough to still capture the essence they were trying for. 12 episodes was wayyyyy too dragged out scene by scene See more Read all reviews
