Inappropriate to some and droll to others, Gossip Girl appeals to a broad audience with stylish costumes and a look into a nasty, upscale world.

Most of the grown-ups on prime-time dramas behave like children anyway, so where's the shame in escaping into a teenie confection like this?

Lord help me, I loved spending an hour hating them, their pedigrees, and their unlimited credit cards. It was like studying the peculiar mating rituals and shopping habits of the species Manhattanus Elitus.

The beginning here is encouraging.

Sep 19, 2007 | Full Review…

It's got all the elements of good, smutty, check-your-brain-at-the-door soapy distraction: mystery, scandal, bitches, and blandly attractive actors who can probably memorize all of their lines.

Gossip Girl's portrayal of young women and their relationships was often highly nuanced.

Gossip Girl established the CW's ethos in a way no superficial rebranding could.

The show could do with an even stronger sense of humor as it goes on, but for now, Gossip Girl at least hits the right notes, and should strike a cord with the young demographic it's going for.

Sep 20, 2017 | Rating: 7/10 | Full Review…

Gossip Girl depicted its characters' excessive power and wealth as a double-edged sword, but it still cast their Upper East Side ecosystem in an aspirational light, thanks to the audience surrogates in the Humphrey family.

There's a cynicism pulsing through the pilot, a cockeyed appreciation of how the rich do play.

Gossip Girl Is A Teen Driven Soappy Drama That Works Because Of Its Performers, Humorous Dialogue and Preppy Style. Call It By What It Is, A Guilty Enjoyable Pleassure

Lovely characters. Blair and chuck are my personal favorites. Blair is very impulsive and has been used to getting everything she wants. She can also be called selfish, but she has her reasons. Chuck, on the other hand, doesn't care about how anyone really feels. He's an odd take on a sociopath. He loves doing things that make people "tick", just to see their reactions.

Gossip Girl a teen drama television series that takes place in upper East Side of New York, it is based on the book series of the same name written by Cecily von Ziegesar. The T.V. series created by Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, originally ran on the CW for six seasons. Narrated by the blogger "Gossip Girl", vioced by Kristen Bell, The series revolves around the fictional lives of upper class students in high school and throughout college. The series begins with the return of teenage Serena Vander Woodsen. "Gossip Girl" reveals that Serena has been away at boarding school in Cornwall, Connecticut, but not everyone welcomes Serena back to Manhattan with open arms. Blair Waldorf, creators describe as "the queen at the center of their chess game," is the queen bee of Constance Saint Jude prep schools social scene. The story also follows Dan Humphrey, who is a self described "outsider" from Brooklyn. Blairs first lobe love and the so called "golden boy", Nate Archibald and the "bad boy" Chuck Bass. The story follows on with all of their life's and the dirty secrets it holds. Gossip girl is my favorite serie and I'm sure that this is the best season. It's better when they are all reckless teenagers.

I have been jumping into bandwagons of shows a few years before my time and gossip girl has been one that i have been enjoying so far. After several people told me i would like it i decided to check it out. It is an overload of money, parties, sex, new york, teenagers, over the top drama topped off with a fun pop soundtrack always in the background and what can i say, that blend makes it very appealing to me. The whole idea of "Gossip Girl" normally works but at times reminds me of something made for a third grade girl. But it's fun trying to guess who she is. Though on the surface it seems very bland i find it interesting to see the battle between people for popularity in the highest circle of people and how some people create drama to escape their real problems in life. When it doesn't get too "i love you so much can you please take me back" or to carried away in Blaire and Jenny's fight to be queen of the school it is very enjoyable and gets me very stressed out in a good way.

Such a different show. The whole 'gossip girl' idea was way before its time. This show is totally underrated.
