In the Cambridgeshire village of Grantchester in the 1950s, gruff, down-to-earth police inspector Geordie Keating's methodical approach to police work complements the intuitive techniques of local vicar Sidney Chambers, and later the Rev. Will Davenport. Geordie forms an unlikely partnership with both men of the cloth, and as partners they bring different insights into the crimes they start to unravel, forming true friendships as they work together. Village life in Grantchester proves to be much livelier than its sleepy appearance might suggest, with intrigue and gossip swirling in the background of Geordie's investigations.

Grantchester deserves to be noticed and possibly even thanked for the rare calm it adds to the increasingly noisy TV landscape. Go to Full Review

It is even more lovely, quiet, moody and engaging than the first season. Go to Full Review

I think it's safe to say that Grantchester isn't a mystery show anymore. It's a straight up morality show. Go to Full Review

It continues to explore adult issues and themes with intelligence and develop a rich cast of characters whose own stories take greater importance through the course of the season. Go to Full Review

Beks C @beks22 Mar 8 I love season 2 just as much as season 1, which is saying a lot. Every episode has me on the edge of my seat. The acting of the entire cast is phenomenal, and I love how each character continues to develop and reveal new facets of themselves. Grantchester is the perfect blend of serious drama and humor. Also, I just love Sidney Chambers so much! See more 06/24/2016 Hate the setting where at the end of every episode there's this coy sanctimonious religious rant about loving each other... also Amanda is such an annoying selfish protagonist who's married and pregnant but still couldn't stay away from her other "friend". See more 05/01/2016 Unfortunatley it was not as good as season one.The writer got away from the novels, not a good idea. Hope they improve next season. See more 04/24/2016 Great show, grittier than the first season, but only just so. Enjoyable television. See more Read all reviews
