Portland detective Nick Burkhardt, descended from a long line of warriors known as Grimms, defends his city from magical creatures known as Wesen, which are part human and part animal. Fighting alongside his partner, Hank, colleague Sergeant Wu and friends Monroe and Rosalee, Nick faces off against internal and external forces, including his police captain, Sean Renard.

Grimm seems to do pretty well with fun episodes and characters marionetted by the writers obvious plot objectives, but they always choose to jump the shark in their season finales with completely inane nonsensical character choices like (spoiler alert) searching a mansion for people headed to a helicopter rather than just uhmm, like, I don't know, inteecepting them AT the helicopter? Point being, great characters and charismatic performances with a totally fun concept are recklessly coerced against all logic and rationality to collide in mechanically scripted plot "twists" compounded by the choice to make characters conveniently amnesiac in all their developed relationships to ensure misunderstandings that serve as shallow patch kits to bandaid lazy writing.
