What to Know

Critics Consensus

Sofía Vergara impressively disappears into the role of Griselda Blanco in this propulsive gangster saga, which plays loose with the facts but achieves genuine grit.

To say this was a rollicking, big-titted rollercoaster is to understate the sheer number of brazen clichés they merrily, wonderfully, shamelessly flung our way, in place of anything approaching a moral lesson, believable character arc or plot. Go to Full Review

Vergara brings a flinty, deductive edge to her Griselda. She's smarter than the macho guys she has to navigate, and eventually bloodier. Go to Full Review

What’s the line between the raw knuckled ambition of greed... at the root of crime genres, and the slimy, glamorous girlboss-ification of a notorious killer? Because Sofía Vergara’s often incredible performance aside, that is what we are watching. Go to Full Review

Griselda is terrifically well paced, with racy dialogue best heard in Spanish with English subtitles, a wonderful soundtrack, perfect 70s costumes, cars and sets, plus outstandingly stylish acting. Go to Full Review

The episode structure also does not help as it always follows the same formula, with a slow beginning and cliffhanger high stakes ending, and thus becomes fairly predictable by the end of the show. Go to Full Review

Griselda doesn’t really manage to reach the heights of the first two seasons of Narcos, but it is still a good piece of entertainment. Go to Full Review

VITALII H @freakynickison Oct 28 6 episodes that excellently show us how does it feel to have so much money, power and respect like Griselda Blanco had. You become a target for so many ppl and you’re going through out of this world difficulties. This Woman was a Colombian drug lord, she built a drug empire in Miami during the 1970s through the early 2000s. It's gonna be hard to believe when I say she was not a bad person. At the end of the day she just wanted to take care of her family, but unfortunately she went tog far. Sofia Vergara did a great Job! I enjoyed it and I recommend you to watch it. See more Riviu R Aug 10 The figure that Pablo Escobar feared most was this woman. How chaotic it turns out to be a narcotics kingpin! See more Amy S Apr 15 Sophia's acting was superb! Thoroughly impressed by her ability to play this role. She nailed it! See more Jack S Mar 12 I really enjoyed this See more Ron S Mar 11 The reason this show is dumb is that they had a great true story to work with, but they added so many ridiculous elements that could never and would never happen. Like shooting guns off in a marina full of people, with no consequences—everyone just stops using drugs instead of calling the police. The claim that she declined a $50 million offer to stop selling cocaine is highly questionable. killing a person in a hotel, and everyone hears the gundshots, but again no police and the list just keeps going and gong Silly show See more Ollie U @Ollieusher 11/14/2024 Narcos it ain't but it's a worthwhile watch. It's a lesser known story but a worthy one to tell. Sofía Vergara is fantastic in the title role and, with the prosthetic make up, it's easy to immerse yourself i her character. The film makers tried to keep the pace up to the end but, through no fault of themselves, it's the way the true story goes, it kinda fizzles out rather goes out with a bang. See more Read all reviews
