The Halo mythology already borrows heavily from sci-fi classics and the writers lose momentum after playing their hand too early, meaning your interest may go AWOL earlier than Master Chief does.

I can safely say that the major flaw in this series is not the lack of accuracy or loyalty to the source material (though that certainly hurt it) but it is the lack of heart in the series.

So much source content to lean on for an instant win with the fan base but for some reason they decided to go off the rails. Halo in title only, very disappointing

There were some moments I lost the plot a bit, but overall this season was a great story with amazing action. Really enjoyed watching it. However, I've only casually played the games through one time, just as a FPS, not digging into the lore. I get that the games weren't really followed, but as a casual fan I was okay with that. I still got a good story out of it, and had a great time watching it.

Come on guys, if you wanted to write your own original space novella don't use an IP that has existed for over two decades. It's basically spitting in the face of everyone who has loved this series for years. There's games, books, shorts, hell there's even anime. Any fan of the original games, can tell this was not created by someone who has touched any of the sources listed above. It's a damn shame how halo fans have been asking for a show or movie for decades and we get this. This was so bad I couldn't get through a couple of episodes, won't ever bother to look at season 2. The series can't undo all the mistakes they have made and needs a reboot before I'd give it a second chance. It's amazing how blind mainstream media is when handling anything with source material. Get your heads out of your asses, or continue to remake live action Disney movies and don't touch anything people already love without giving it the respect it deserves.

The show begins on a high note when Master Chief helps Kwan escape Madrigal during a Covenant attack with a Forerunner artifact. The action slows as John chases memories, Halsey creates Cortana, Kwan returns to free her planet from the UNSC, and Makee looks to steal the artifact. Overall, the few battles are the only thing that feels "Halo" in this show and Rich Homie Kwan's side story seems unnecessary.
