Audience Reviews for Halo: Season 1

1h agoFor 21 years I played every single game, read a lot of novels, seen all the precedent series and cartoons, and tried to understand every angle of this extraordinary story. My expectations were high, i hoped that the director and writers threated the story with the same standard and dicipline, but you took this universe and you dissect it, took the pieces and made another story, this is not Halo, this is an intempt to find your own "game of thrones", you would lose this fandom, you would lose this suscriptions and someday you'll have to sell the rigths...you misstreated the Master Chief, this is not his story. Next time respect the work, play the games, try to understand, but i guess you were just getting another "target audience", we where not financially viable, us the fans!

1h agoGreat story line - Brilliant series - can't wait for season 2.
-
2h agoThe art team did a great job of capturing the look and feel of the Halo universe but the writers did not. This is not Halo. This is some other random sci-fi show with a Halo skin placed over it.
-
2h agoI love most science fiction and after actually playing the game when I was younger and my sons wanted the latest games I loved the show in so many ways. Going from the game to a live TV series was extremely well done the special effects were again so very good. I always liked the storyline and series can only get better and better in my opinion.
-
2h agoStarts off perfectly solid, but Halo slowly dives deep with an incoherent storyline, and overall unfaithfulness to it's much more grounded source material.
-
2h agovery good series I loved it!

2h agoI've never played a Halo game in my life, so I can't speak to the differences between the show and games at all. What I can say is that this show is dreadfully boring. Standard dysfunctional family where one parent is driven entirely by work and that pushes the kid away. Masterchief seems to mainly stare at things. I imagine pages upon pages of screenplay: "Masterchief stares into the camera, slightly confused." Then on top of the dull main story we get an even more boring side story where clearance-bin Mulan and off-brand Pirate Dave Chapelle try and liberate some desert world from bargain basement Willem Dafoe. Who cares?
-
4h agoa horrible show spoiler alert the kill the main character "master chief" and have "cortana" puppet his body like a god damn meat suit who ever thought that this show was well made should be shunned from the critic community because they are obviously being paid off by paramount
-
5h agoPretty slow in the beginning but as the series progressed it got better. Honestly, while the story is always important the battles and fight scenes are what makes this series good. Should make a second season maybe but they are going to have to pull out the stop and spend more time creating spic fight scenes. The need to tighten on fleshing out the characters better was a bit too slow for me.
-
6h agoIf this was called "Space Marine" instead of Halo I'd have given it 1 star instead of half a star. You can feel the contempt the showrunners have for the source material. But it isn't just that. Poor pacing, annoying characters, cringy dialogue, awful sound design and score, and the acting could use work. Just an absolute mess. Who greenlit this? Whoever did should be fired.
