Tv Season Info

Series 3 of the crime drama begins with McGarrett (Alex O'Loughlin) dealing with the realisation that his mother Doris (Christine Lahti) is alive and is the elusive Shelburne he has been hunting. She tells Steve that she was a CIA agent who assassinated Wo Fat's father. She faked her death and went into hiding to protect her family. Meanwhile, Adam (Ian Anthony Dale) rescues Kono (Grace Park) from a watery grave; and Chin Ho (Daniel Dae Kim) desperately tries to save his wife Malia (Reiko Aylesworth) from being killed by career criminal Frank Delano (William Baldwin), who also breaks Wo Fat (Mark Dacascos) out of prison. Elsewhere, Steve's Navy girlfriend, Catherine Rollins (Michelle Borth), becomes more involved with Five-0 investigations; and Kono's relationship with Yakuza leader Adam takes a hit when his brother (Daniel Henney) is released from prison and learns about Adam's plans to legitimise the criminal enterprise. It also prompts Kono to snoop into Adam's Yakuza affairs. As for Danny (Scott Caan), he goes to court to get shared custody of Grace and tells Steve a harrowing story about his fallen partner (Sydney Tamiia Poitier) back in New Jersey. All the while, Wo Fat continues to haunt McGarrett and steals a sensitive CIA microfilm from Doris that could endanger many agents in the field. Ed Asner, Treat Williams, Tom Arnold and Dog the Bounty Hunter guest star.

Critic Reviews for Hawaii Five-0 Season 3

All Critics (3) | Top Critics (1)

This week's premiere was excellent and the addition of Lahti as Doris made for some fun Hawaii Five-O Quotes. I'm excited to see where Lenov decides to take her and Catherine in relation to the core team.

Aims to please with an over-the-top conclusion to last season's melodramatic cliffhanger.

This is not the usual CBS procedural way of doing things.
