Audience Reviews for Heels: Season 1

An excellent show. I hope there is a season 2.

This is such a soap opera. Soap opera with no FCC restrictions but a soap opera nonetheless. The premise is a joke, amateur WWE style wrestling? I know there are gyms that teach wanna be professional wrestlers but this is just dumb. Plus it's 2021, even babies know wrestling is fake, so forcing that keep the characters traits everywhere is unfair and dumb. Lastly what's with the cartoon names? Jack, Ace and King Spade? Is this show about wrestling or a secret origin of DC comics Royal Flush Gang? At the time of writing the review this is like the third series I reviewed from Starz and for the most part Starz is sticking to the "AMC" book of characters as in the biggest assholes they can create.

How did I sleep on this show? It's really good and doesn't require you to be a wrestling fan to enjoy it. Check it out. You'll be pleasantly surprised. Can't wait for season 2.

Loved it. Well cast with a good story; overall a very well done season.

A bit campy at times, but the show delivers quite a bit of fun story telling with a mix of a few entertaining characters. As well as a few real wrestler cameos which felt great to see. I'd gladly give this show another watch if season 2 comes around.

Extremely entertaining. Fell out of wrestling not long after Undertaker went all biker and Kane took his mask off, but this has revitalised my interest and love of the good old days. As the show gets more of a name for itself I'd love to see cameos from WWE wrestlers or whatever other federation. Loses a star because whenever it flicks to the wife I just don't care. They're just giving her busy work, like playing the guitar. Why can't side characters be left as side characters, or love interests as love interests. Not every character needs to be as fully fleshed out as the main cast. But all in all, a solid watch. Highly recommended. Even the missus who does not give a flying toss about wrestling watched all of it. Oh, the drama!

Likely the best series I watched in 2021!

I am not a fan of wrestling or starz. This is the best show I have seen since Spartcius, it has great acting and writing. A very strong an engaging story.

I suppose it's like what Mad Men was for advertising, Heels is for wrestling. It shows the life behind the glits and glamore. What the people would be like behind the persona they project for wrestling fans. Good guy wrestlers are sometimes are scumbags and the scumbags wrestlers are actually really nice decent people. How people perceive woman who want to get into wrestling and so on and so forth. It was interesting to watch their struggles but since I am not a wrestling fan and was watching it more for the story behind the wrestling, I would only watch it if nothing else was on and to pass the time which it did.

Great concept. Doesn't lowbrow the behind the scenes of wrestling culture.
