This show I feel helps show the power of the human mind to try to rationalize something they can't comprehend and how some will take advantage of that confusion for their own personal gain.

        Handled way too politically.

I've seen a lot of criticism for this show but I thoroughly enjoyed it. I found it really engaging and addictive, with the right pacing and drama balance. Can't wait for Season 2!

I liked it alot. I can only imagine it's getting a low audience score because it is very deep in terms of questioning religion. I found it to be very engaging and thoughtful. Looking forward to season two.

As a huge fan of South Korean cinema, and in particular director Yeon Sang-ho I was really excited to watch 'Hellbound' on Netflix. SYNOPSIS: 'People hear predictions on when they will die. When that time comes, a death angel appears in front of them and kills them.' This series is a fascinating entry into stories about faith, and looks how cults exploit the events to gain power and how the general population live in fear. It's also more of an anthology piece following a number of characters through their desperation against impending doom. The monsters themselves are slightly absurd, and at times the CGI is ropey, but overall the madness their appearance brings to the world is extremely believable. It's not Sang-ho's best work but that's probably because he's excelled in the past especially with 'The Train To Busan'. I expected and wanted more though. Hopefully series 2 can deliver this. Worth a watch! 7/10

This is a wonderful representation of the manga i read... its great to know that some people really take care of the good details from a fantastic historic. I hope a continuation comes soon.

Hellbound is a wonderful yet dark surreal fantasy that gives you a glimpse into the abyss, while you wait anxiously, hands clutched, as events unfold. Season 1 only opens the door of reflection into the "how" or "why" which leave so many of us guessing. Like any unexplained event it touches upon human nature and the collective "mob" like mindset when faced with crisis and fear. We also witness the rise of corrupt humans who try to leverage these events to further their aim for power and control. It is refreshing to watch a show that is not predictable, merging dark fantasy and biblical sin vs saint undertones, while holding up a mirror to human behavior and government corruption. I am anxiously awaiting Season 2 to continue putting the pieces together for a better understanding of the bigger picture.

Great first 3 episodes, very captivating and intriguing plot. The whole dystopianish society gave it good vibes. Ending was unexplained and episodes 4-6 felt unnecessary, characters and stories for those characters were dropped and never explained. At an hour each episode it could have ended at episode 5, and used the last 15-20 minutes hyping and explaining the plot for the next season, instead of using the last 5 seconds of the hour long episode to hype a season that will not be released for another 2 years.

        this was aggravating to watch.

A carefully crafted story about death, hope and how religion is used to distort the mind of the masses. It's absolutely incredible and I cannot wait for season 2.
