Where it gets fascinating... is with how all of this presumably supernatural peculiarity is handled and sometimes exploited by all involved, from the cults cashing in to the police finding it just another bloody hassle. Go to Full Review

"Hellbound" is savvy in the way it treats this season with a bit of an anthology touch, avoiding the trap of following just one person as an audience surrogate. Go to Full Review

Director Yeon Sang-Ha adapted "Hellbound" from his own webtoon. He makes it clear that cults are the true sinners, which manipulate people's lives with fear; and that hell isn't a place foreign to us, because it's where we may already be living.  Go to Full Review

The shows many thrilling scenarios present contemporary parallels with issues that bitterly divide us today, from social inequalities to Covid-19 vaccinations and global warming denialism. Go to Full Review

Hellbound is a nasty piece of work that starts off fascinating and then blends its genre elements with its philosophical concepts into an unwieldy blend of thrills and heady ideas that land somewhat inertly by its conclusion. Go to Full Review

Ben Othmen O 01/27/2025 Hellbound is an unsettling watch that takes violence to extreme levels. The constant bloodshed and graphic scenes, particularly involving older people, feel gratuitous and inhumane. Instead of offering meaningful storytelling, the show relies on shock value, making it uncomfortable and tasteless. Some content simply doesn’t belong on screen, and this series is a prime example. I cannot recommend it to anyone seeking thoughtful entertainment. See more Jorch N 11/22/2024 Very interesting and intriguing story. Characters are well written. Effects are AAA Takes on questionable situations without preaching for good or bad. It just lets the situation develop itself and lets the viewer make their own conclusions. See more David D @David2026 11/10/2024 Another incredible example of the failure of the western world's entertainment industry, particularly the nonesense coming out of the accumulating garbage pit that Disney has become. The good news is that things go in cycles, and it will turn, In the interim, there is this. The acting is hamy, very hamy, although it be the English dubbing. The series plotlines demonstates the wild stupidity of its world. For all the terminal violence no-one uses guns. Idiocy governs decision making. Noone seems to interested in figuring out what the supernatural are...I mean scientifically...dammit even the military seem disinterested. All of the above aside, the premise is interesting and you are left wondering whats coming next. So, for the strangest of reasons, this is another great Asian TV show! See more Aliasgar T 11/02/2024 It was really nice and a new story something good the writer got up with. See more Al P @BoosterAp 10/29/2024 Really loved this and binged watched it in one day. Kept me guessing what the hell creatures are. I'm behind so started season 2 straight away just watching episode 1 now! Only given 4 1/2 because some of the characters are abit OTT. See more Rolf YouTube 10/29/2024 This show is difficult to watch due to the need of the viewer to suspend all knowledge and common sense…which is impossible. For example, one must believe that the every citizen of the Republic of Korea has NEVER heard of Jesus of Nazareth nor Christianity. Has never heard of Judaism. Islam. And more. The acting. Superb. The script. Sub…sub…substandard. See more Read all reviews
