As hard as Kravitz works to dim her light in High Fidelity, she doesn't quite succeed; to her credit, though, her Rob is way more magnetic onscreen than the original, and it's still fun to watch her try.

The series is about finding the balance between communicating through what you love and using it as a replacement for communication. That's a really good series. It's just that that series shouldn't have tried to be High Fidelity.

Any pleasures are surface-level. Settling for these images in an otherwise tokenizing tale isn't enough to invest in the show.

It looks pleasant because it is still a story with which it is easy to connect with, thanks to Zoë Kravitz. [Full Review in Spanish]

Successfully reflects modern dating in terms of the evolution of courtship and commitment... In other words, it's a worthwhile remix.

High Fidelity is a gorgeous piece of fourth wall-breaking piece of millennial existential angst.

The creators of this "High Fidelity" TV series fail to expand on the material to the point where 10 episodes can be sustained.

High Fidelity makes great use of Zoe Kravitz and a slew of talented actors while using music geekery to weave together a truly authentic story of heartbreak and arrested development.

It does spur some insightful ruminations around how much emotional weight we place on music and any adopted cynical stances one might around what is cool and allowed and what is verboten.

Kravitz's Rob may seem too cool for the most of us, and can be insufferable in her own way, but regardless High Fidelity makes you want to see her heartbreak through even if her Top Five Exes can't.

It's an easy binge because of its tone and humorous millennial despair.

So for a series that so often operates in tandem with the music playing in the background, "High Fidelity" has a consistent rhythm that's flexible enough to bend with the demands of each passing episode.

Aside from being a fun, likable show, High Fidelity takes on the often difficult task of examining what it means to be a bad person, and when, and how much, that makes someone less deserving of love.
February 14, 2020
You walk away with the sense of High Fidelity as a justifiably living document, as a series of reboots and remakes in legitimately jarring and fascinating conversation with one another, as the ongoing chronicle of an awful person's rebirth...

High Fidelity gets at least one part of the record store experience right: the surprise and delight of a great discovery-not necessarily new, yet not where you expected either.
February 14, 2020
Stream it, mostly because of Zoe Kravitz's magnetic presence.

[An] empathetic, textured, funny, surprising, and affectionate reimagining.

Da'Vine Joy Randolph, a standout in Dolemite is My Name and On Being a God in Central Florida, is a great choice for the Jack Black character.

I just couldn't buy into the stakes.
