Rupert Friend's acting was superb this week. Quinn 2.0 may be hard to watch, but the nuance and depth that Friend has brought to a character that's been practically impenetrable for four seasons is quite masterful.
Its central theme, its basic structure, is a sort of double vision, through which it becomes impossible for both characters and viewers to distinguish fact from fiction.
Tonight was a series of unexpected events, and one that leaves the pieces on the board in disarray, and Dar Adal closer to his checkmate against an oblivious queen... So let's see where the pieces move, because it's become irresistible to look away.
It's patently ridiculous to believe that Quinn could have survived all of that, but that was another in a series of great, intense action sequences this season. I'm sorry to see Astrid go.
