Tv Season Info

Season 3 of the black comedy about cutthroat management consultants begins with Marty (Don Cheadle) starting his own firm, Kaan and Associates. He desperately misses Jeannie (Kristen Bell), but he continues to keep his feelings to himself. The two do work together, however, on a plot to pit rival grocery clients against one another, so the two wheeler-dealers can reap a huge profit. Of course, things don't go quite as planned. Meanwhile, changes at Galweather and Stearn, including the return of the ruthless Rainmaker (Griffin Dunne), cause trouble for Jeannie and set her on a path of destruction at the firm. And things aren't any better for Clyde (Ben Schwartz). His life is made miserable when he works under Monica (Dawn Olivieri) and it becomes even more brutal when he is forced to work from her home. As for newly married Doug (Josh Lawson), Sarah (Jenny Slate) tells him she wants them to have a baby and that she has already stopped taking birth-control pills.

Ben Schwartz could not be killing it more this season if it was his job. I mean, it is his job, but he's really good at it.

As House of Lies enters its third season, the show has finally settled into a groove and found its authentic voice. Marty has his warts, but he has a conscience too. Perhaps he always did.

In the end the Kaan men were reunited and strong, so at least Marty has that again.

One of the show's strengths has always been its ability to make Marty, a character with many unsympathetic qualities, sympathetic and relatable.

Aside from the unclean feeling felt by entering into this world, House of Lies faces one other great problem: It's just not that funny.

Marty Kaan is now enjoying running hs own firm Kaan & Associates. Clyde is now working for Monica, Marty's ex who is turns out is a psycho in the workplace. She treats Clyde like crap and abuses one of his co-workers. Sarah wants a baby with Doug who decides to pretend to fertilize her. Marty thinks about Jeannie all the time but can't come to terms with his feelings. Marty is pursuing an Organic Grocery store in China but works out a plot to pit the rival grocery clients against each other with the help of Jeannie who is still at Galweather. Jeannie ends up not doing the deal as planned while things also turn upside down for her at Galweather. Clyde tries to heal old wounds & apologize to Marty by bringing in a Media Mogul Melissa who has been banned from her own company & put in a drug rehabilitation home. They seek to reestablish her as head of the company in return for her business. Jeannie decides to bring her Grocery Client to Marty for a piece of his company. They become Partners. Marty & Jeannie pursue a hip hop clothing brand Dollahyde. As Marty becomes close to one of the partners he loses perspective about getting rid of the other partner. This relationship between the two partners is explosive and reveals some painful problems not only with Dollahydge but also with Marty & Jeannie's relationship. Jeannie & Marty finally resolve things when she comes by his place drunk & they end up sleeping together & Marty tells her he loves her. Clyde gets screwed over by Marissa. Jeannie makes a deal with a friend at the Feds to turn over the Dallahyde books to get their business, what she does indirectly brings the Feds in at Kaan & Associates arresting Marty not Jeannie for a problem with the books on the Grocery stores. An explosive ending that is sure to make Season 4 interesting. Love this show.

Extremely disappointing, huge let down from the first first season.

Don Cheadle and Kristen Bell have a schemistry that I really didn't expect. Combined with the character of Marty Khan who tries to do right by his family while also trying to run a successful business and have his own life, this show unexpectedly pulled me in. I hope it runs for many seasons.

Season 3 of Showtime's House of Lies continues to be funny, smartly-written, and have great character development, plot progression, and strong performances from Cheadle and Bell.

This season has definitely upped the ante from the story-telling to the acting.
