Academy Award-winning filmmaker Alex Gibney and New York Times best-selling author Michael Pollan present this documentary series event in four parts, each focused on a different mind-altering substance: LSD, psilocybin, MDMA, and mescaline. With Pollan as our guide, we journey to the frontiers of the new psychedelic renaissance -- and look back at almost-forgotten historical context -- to explore the potential of these substances to heal and change minds as well as culture.

There is something oversimplified about this TV version of “How to Change Your Mind,” as if its knowledge has been run through a sieve. But worthy pieces of insight still fleck the episodes. Go to Full Review

Brian S 04/16/2024 Only 22 minutes into the first episode and Pollan misleads the audience by suggesting it was lsd and not belladonna that helped Bill Wilson to have his spiritual experience. While Bill did use lsd to treat his depression, he did so at least two decades after he had stopped drinking. See more Erik B 09/28/2023 Super interesting look at the potential benefits of psychedelics. See more drey s @Dreysamuelson3 09/29/2022 I loved it--Pollan is an engaging, intelligent, and amiable host, and the series is very persuasive that psychedelic therapy, performed by trained professionals, can be extremely effective, as well as the world tragically lost decades of key research time by stupidly prohibiting it. See more 07/26/2022 excellent and insightful show with lots of history and scientific evidence for those interested in learning about psychedelics See more 07/22/2022 It could finally grasp an understanding of what the experiences of me and my friends looked like using psychedelic substances. The balance of medical facts and elaborating ones' emotions is well done and I truly believe that this series can change the general perception on plants called "drugs" :D See more 07/18/2022 Revealing truth about psychedelics.
