Critic reviews for There Are Worse Things Than Murder
Annalise Keating made quite the unexpected pass at the end of Thursday's How to Get Away With Murder. No, no, no... I don't mean to imply she asked puppydog Wes to handle dictation duties - not that there'd be anything wrong with that.
I agree that it didn't flow as effortlessly as the first episode but it did further set up some plot developments that will work their way into the season.
One of the most compelling cases of the week yet. Irene's story really tugged at the heart. It was refreshing that she was not remorseful about murdering her husband.
Whew. This is intense and it's only the second episode of the season!
How To Get Away With Murder examines the relationship between violence and power beyond just murder, and this show is especially sharp in its stories of physical and sexual abuse, depicting survivors as complex individuals instead of monoliths.
