What to Know

Critics Consensus

Tonal inconsistency and an ill-defined ensemble can make this comedy hard to love, but it wholly delivers as an overdue showcase for Vanessa Bayer.

A painful comedy lifted into the realms of genius by a superb central performance from Vanessa Bayer. Go to Full Review

I Love That For You interrogates ideas about worthiness within a bright and appealing workplace comedy framework that masks how thorny many of its ideas actually are. Go to Full Review

The satire on shopping channels and consumerism is nicely done, but the behind-the-scenes bitchery is even more fun. Go to Full Review

Morals and ethics aside, I Love That For You is a dumpster fire of ridiculousness, and makes the viewer laugh, no matter the web of lies our on-screen protagonist find herself trapped in. Go to Full Review

JP K @JPKnLA Jul 22 Amid the TIDAL WAVE of content in 2025, its surprising that Showtime failed to renew ILTFY. Vanessa Bayer is talented, mostly as a comedic performer, and here as a creator. Can the situations feel a bit canned? Well, yes, but that's TV/Movies; you can't possibly concoct "natural" scenes ad nauseum, because *something* has to happen, someone, or thing needs to catalyze the context - that's just the way it is. If there were to be a 2nd season - which looks doubtful - I'd tell Vanessa to take it easy on her character; sometimes it feels like she's using her as a punching bag. A bit too much. All in all, this was a pretty entertaining series that left me wanting more. TOO BAD. See more Stephanie C @Steph3317 03/10/2024 I loved this show I hope it comes back for a season 2. See more Seams L @RT75094596 04/24/2023 Such a great cast and I love the premise and the simple story telling. It keeps the humour relatable and fun to watch. Despite all the deception it's a sweet story. Can't wait for the 2nd season. Thoroughly enjoyable. See more 07/30/2022 I love everything about it, it's hilarious except some completely useless characters. That gay secretary person is not funny, never says anything funny but gets so much screen time and I've no idea why. The lead's parents should've been written better. Their appearance makes me want to fast-forward. See more Samer W @RT18789136 07/17/2022 Really funny. Really touching. Original concept. Tight storytelling. Great performances that pay homage without feeling patronizing to the shop at home folks they reference. Loving and hopeful. See more 06/27/2022 Absolutely hilarious and strong start, I'm only a couple of episodes in. Thinking if it will sustain this for the whole season. Rooting for them! Amazing! (and I was not a Vanessa Bayer fan over her SNL years. But this is outstanding.) See more Read all reviews
