And the finale, that was the big let down, no resistance, 3 gun men that put up no resistance to one woman and a gun. It turned out to be quite shite actually, and didn't do a Harlan Coben story the justice it deserved. Sadly, not for the first time. I love his books, but the screen writing and production is always woeful. Rachels acting was also dreadful. I don't think I will be watching any more Harlen Coben screen adaptations. The plot is overloaded with pointless subplots, random characters, FBI family drama, divorce issues, and endless backstories that add nothing but confusion. Matthew is constantly mentioned but barely exists as an actual character. And the ending? The man who made the protagonist’s release from prison possible barely gets acknowledged when gratitude is expressed, while the focus shifts elsewhere. Apparently, even basic narrative consistency was too much to ask. And then there’s that scene with Nicky and the gun. If you’ve seen it, you know. Pure absurdity. The writing is so convoluted, the character choices so bizarre, and the plot so poorly executed that nothing feels coherent or earned. A series you watch once just to make sure you never waste your time on it again. If absurdity were a genre, this would be its masterpiece. See more Jamie M @RTlol77 5 days ago The acting and dialogue are so bad, they have to be trying to be awful. They're campaigning for Razzies HARD. The writers are obsessed with exposition dumps. They do them as often as they can. Either through voiceover or the bad guy just TELLING everyone their plan and what they did. Insane. I did give it a star because (SPOILER) I love when a show proves that the self proclaimed "good guy" is always an asshole. Not just in TV, in real life too. Unfortunately, what begins as a promising thriller quickly spirals into an increasingly convoluted and implausible mess that struggles to hold itself together. Sam Worthington and Britt Lower both deliver solid performances and do their best with the material, but even their acting cannot rescue a storyline that becomes progressively more ridiculous as it unfolds. The pacing becomes uneven, the twists feel increasingly forced. The biggest disappointment is that there was actually a good thriller buried somewhere, instead of building on its strong opening, the story takes one unnecessary turn after another, sacrificing credibility for manufactured suspense. Ultimately, is watchable, but frustratingly mediocre. Strong performances and an interesting beginning simply are not enough to keep this thriller afloat when the writing is this weak.
