If you're expecting Train to Busan-level intensity, forget it, but this is still a pretty well-made entry into the "cursed technological object" genre. Go to Full Review

The pacing can become distracted at times, but the story doesn’t continue to be hampered by these difficulties and regains its momentum, leading to a cautionary tale that will make you second-guess your next birthday wish. Go to Full Review

If Wishes Could Kill takes a familiar premise and makes it fresh with its infusion of shamanism and exploration of toxic friendships. With some tighter edits to the story and maybe a couple more questions answered, it could have had further impact. Go to Full Review

Hotma Fani H @RT55323325 4 days ago If Wishes Could Kill has a killer premise: a mysterious app grants wishes while a countdown hangs over its users. The problem is that the show has more confidence in its concept than in the storytelling surrounding it. The atmosphere is solid, and the supernatural mystery keeps things moving. The young cast also gives the drama enough energy to survive some of the weaker material. But the series occasionally leans too hard into familiar teen-horror melodrama, and several twists feel less clever than the show clearly thinks they are. The biggest issue is pacing. Eight episodes should be enough to tell this story efficiently, yet the middle stretch spends too much time circling its own mystery. By the time the mythology starts coming together, I was less desperate for answers and more desperate for the characters to stop explaining things to each other. See more diogo13 T @Tua_mera Jul 22, 2026 It doesn't have a sophisticated script or major thrills, but it fulfills its purpose of entertaining. See more Tygari D @RT50516022 Jul 8, 2026 I really enjoyed this show. It kept me on edge the entire time. But there were times the story slowed and just crept along. Still, it is a good story and jumps around from various points of view of the cast to tell everything. The writers did a good job overall and it is quite entertaining. See more David D @David2026 Jul 3, 2026 Now this is how to do a horror high school TV series. Good script, good acting, good production values and a story that makes sense. Not only that its not trying to pump any nonsense down your throat. I'm starting to think that Netflix could kill the US produced equivalents.
