What if natural disasters were alien smokescreens designed to mask something far more ominous? When a hurricane threatens a small town in Florida, park ranger Russell Poole's young daughter is the only one to see small lights floating towards the water, seemingly unaffected by the vicious winds. At the time, he thinks nothing of her claim, but begins to suspect something may be amiss when his missing ex-wife is found, with no memory of what happened during the storm. In the aftermath of the storm, water-based creatures infiltrate the town and take over the bodies of the town's residents through a cloning process.

What to Know

Critics Consensus

While this steady dip into the sci-fi pond promises more than it can deliver in terms of sustained suspense, its body-snatching element carries enough narrative intrigue to make this Invasion good enough to invest in.

Even though I find this to be Dullsville, the show has a great shot, thanks to a time-slot neighbor called "Lost." Go to Full Review

A smaller-scale account of alien attack that foregoes the usual city-busting CGI in favour of a more intimate, personal approach. It takes its sweet time about it, though. Go to Full Review

Ted B. @Movieaddicted Nov 12 2.5 stars; A cheap rip-off of the "Invasion of the Body Snatchers" movie, and I do mean cheap. The acting and the special effects (or a lack thereof) are TV-movie level. the story was way too 'soap-opera'ish. They made enough changes in the story so that it stands alone, but the movie concept is the same. Good Sci-fi Series are few and far between, so even a half hearted attempt is greatly appreciated by Sci-fi fans. But then there's that 'non-ending' ending, and that was enough to drag its rating down. See more Adam S @RT65691223 06/20/2023 Television at its worst. The definistion of abysmal writing. Constant use of "DUH-DUH" moments... but there is no tension because they use these AFTER we know whatever was supposed to be suspensful. Lots and lots of stupid dialogue that has absoutely nothing to do with story but to fill pages of script. Nothing to do with science fiction, basically a sappy family soap opera with a dumb unseen alien story floating far far far off in the background. See more Kate T @ckat9 02/20/2023 It's pretty slow, sets you up to think this is the episode where FINALLY something happens. It doesn't. Not until Episode 10. THAT is where the series SHOULD have started or at least been far earlier on. There is too much back story of the characters and storm which was not needed. I guess they thought they needed to drag it out to make a series but they could have created a more suspenseful thriller if they had started stronger and created a decent thriller series from there. Many interesting things could happen to the people. Maybe something similar to THE INVADERS where the hero travels from place to place trying to uncover the truth. I didn't mind that it dragged all that much, but many probably would. The characters are somewhat interesting but I got tired of waiting for something to happen. It's a soap opera, mostly. I'm pretty sure this is why it stopped after one season. See more TIM M @tm11999 02/09/2023 19 year old college hotty asks 17 year old high school boy if he wants to take a bath, he says "like together"? she says "yeah" he says "shouldn't we watch TV first"? mish-mash of stupid but the girls were pretty, ended after 1 season on a cliffhanger. take a nap instead. See more ethan h @RT13842224 08/24/2020 Series really well done that was cancelled well before its time. See more 03/28/2020 First episode date: September 21, 2005 Final episode date: May 17, 2006 Network: American Broadcasting Company Program creator: Shaun Cassidy 6 minutes ago TV series from 2005-2006, 22 episodes. Well done effects. Relatable characters are not flat. Most of the characters are not all good or all bad - and under extreme circumstances they can seem both, like most real people. The story has lots of mysteries that are solved as it goes along, and the action creates lots of tension to make the audience want more. The cast was chosen well with excellent actors. It's worth a few nights of binging to see all the episodes. See more Read all reviews
