The is the most boring TV show I've seen in years. It's been done on the cheap so hardly any alien scenes. 10 hours of your life you'll never get back.

The cinematographer Julian Court should go back to waitressing. She can not direct her way out of a paper bag. I hate when a cinematographer makes it so dark you can not even see anything in the scene. What's the point!. I want to WATCH the movie not guess what the hell is going on. Maybe she thinks it's art and I don't understand if that's art her art SUCKS.

Invasion is not a mindless, American centric ra-ra popcorn series (see: every other alien invasion movie, pretty much). Rather, it's a multiple storyline, international, more realistic version of an alien invasion of Earth. I found the stories, complexity, character development, and alien overmatch to be incredibly refreshing. If you want to see dumb jocks in 1970s era fighter jets somehow defeat interstellar technology, this is not your series. If you want to get a much more likely view into a world changing invasion, this series is for you.

I've found that the greatest weakness of this show isn't actually the pacing (which yes, given that it was titled 'Invasion' should have been more abrupt in its delivery). Rather, I'd fault the plot and characterisation as major shortcomings. Given the material, the performances and production were decent. Yet it seems apparent that the writers were a pair of teenage boys. Their adults interact like melodramatic adolescents. They've clearly never spent time with real children, let alone ones in real distress. They seem to have only a surface-level understanding of non-american cultures. Any they don't seem to have done their research with regard to how trained professionals acts actually perform their jobs under duress. Had they done any of this, they could have actually delivered their collection of loosely-related stories, with different people facing different challenges, in a way that could actually be grounded, compelling, and relatable. Were it not for the frequent bursts of action, my eye-rolling disdain would have forced me to quit this series earlier.

1 and 2 ep was decent. After that just down hill. Slow, boring bad writing. And that Japan part was terrible lol

First few episodes….very slow burn. But by the last part of the season, I wanted more, and that's all I want from a show. I don't watch shows just to finish what I started and to be honest I was close to turning this one off for good. the dialogue did get a bit long sometimes and the doctors kids were just so damn annoying. But it was suspenseful, and personal. Character development is a focus and I think they have a really solid base going forward if season 2 is done.

A good quality, slow burn. Enjoyed the idea of the story from different points of view. However the constant screeming of the doctors children had me skipping through scenes. They certainly were the weakest part of the show and should have been a convenient kill early on.

I don't know what people see in this show. So much of it is nonsense. Really, a Japanese rocket scientist girl can waltz around and do whatever she wants. Um, security? Global calamity is happening around the world. I guess world leaders only look at what's in their own backyard. Everyone around the world is completely clueless. The writers should spend some effort to make things realistic. Lord of the flies with the kids on the bus. Yup, no one is looking for them. They can survive all own their own. No real injuries to speak of. This show is brutal.
