News & Interviews for Invincible: Season 1
Some of the series' devices now seem less fresh than they did in 2003... but the show combats this by devoting serious screen time to building out the dynamics between its characters in ways big and small.
It's not an entirely new approach for this genre, but the familiarity of Invincible is forgivable in light of the confidence that both Kirkman and Yeun bring to the material. They're the reason to watch.
For now, we'll simply say that Invincible is one of the best new shows for genre fans and a worthy addition to the oversaturated superhero market.
Much like Amazon's massive superhero hit The Boys, it incorporates the iconography and character archetypes of more popular properties to give viewers something that still feels familiar and inviting.
Invincible boasts one of the most impressive voice casts of any series in recent memory.
I'm definitely inclined to keep watching. But the producers will have to work hard to ensure that the 40- to 45-minute episodes (the same length as an hourlong TV show with commercials) don't start to feel bloated.
A dark superhero series with similar beats you've seen before if you love the genre. The main drawback is that some of the main characters are not interesting enough to hold your attention like they should.
With a great voice cast led by Oscar nominee Steven Yeun, this animated series does justice to Robert Kirkman's superhero comics.
Invincible is at turns exhilarating, fun, unsettling, creepy, and disturbing -- everything you want from an action-adventure story. Take a flyer on it.
From its slick animation to its excellent voice cast, it's a winner from top to bottom.
Superhero fans will probably enjoy the many hat tips to classic superheroes, and although the subversion of tropes may feel less surprising than they did back in the day, it'll still pack a punch for comic and superhero fans alike.

10h agoLa mejor seria actualmente de las plataformas, su tono agridulce te hace querer mas
21h agoAs with so many Pilot episodes, the bar is set high. As the titular Invincible gains his footing as a hero it seems that the show loses steam. Balancing the domestic with the requirements of a superhero is attractive but the same notes are being repeated too often. Consider how Tony Soprano managed his domestic life with "The Family" of the Mafia. Overall this show has enough to bring me back, but it will need more than the villain of the week equation that sinks so many shows; it will need characters who are super to grow, or not grow, like characters who are human.
1d agoA powerful depiction of the real violence that Superheros are a part of. the whole series has an underlying dramatic irony of a secret we know but the characters don't. It's well written with powerful characters and an astounding tribute to its comic counterpart.
3d agonot boring I love the development that is given to the characters
4d agoSo far I've really enjoyed it. I've never read the comic, but I did read they updated the series for the current times. So far, still feels pretty natural and nothing really jumps out at me that would make me tune out of this cartoon. There is a lot of gore, but I don't mind that at all. I like the sinister agenda hinted at in the beginning of the series and wonder how it will play out when our protagonist is a classic good guy (if a teenager!). Some of the supes are definite rip offs of more commonly known ones, but again, that doesn't take away from the show in my opinion and we do have some pretty original concepts. Last but not least, I do love the voice acting. A lot of well known actors and doing as good a job with the voice acting as they do when they are on a screen. All very well done. I am hopeful for season 2.

Apr 16, 2021I absolutely love it. I've read the full comic series and can attest that the makers of the show actually take it seriously. It's pretty true to the source material while taking some liberties for the show which is ok. The animation isn't the best in the world but very acceptable. The only downside is that at the rate the episodes are coming out, it would take years to take a sizable chunk out of the main story. 5 epidoes later and they've barely laid out the full premise of the show. Watch it and read the comic, it is so very good.
Apr 16, 2021Overall it's a fun show there are two characters that are just insufferable that caused me to drop one star. It feels a bit like they're trying to hard to be shocking.
Apr 15, 2021Love the characters design, their costumes, the animation. Look forward for new episodes..
