Tv Season Info

The Paddy's Pub gang return for an eighth season of ill-conceived misadventures featuring a crashed wedding, a painting by Adolf Hitler and a makeshift legal trial over spilled milk. Dennis (Glenn Howerton) and his sister Dee (Kaitlin Olson) first must decide the fate of their ailing grandfather, who happens to be a former Nazi. Later, their father Frank (Danny DeVito) masterminds a get-ric h-quick scheme involving the city's trash , and Mac (Rob McElhenney) helps Charlie (Charlie Day) plan a sham fund-raiser. The gang also uncharacteristically seek an outside opinion during a visit to a therapist's office, but, as expected, more problems than solutions arise.

Don't get hung up on the (lack of) plot: Sunny is all about the severely messed-up relationships between these horrible, but hilarious people.

Yes, Sunny is just as dark and crazy as ever. I just wish it was a little more focused in its wit and a little less familiar.

There's still comedy to be mined from Dennis and Dee misremembering their clearly effed-up formative years.

It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia has become the Energizer Bunny of cable TV sitcoms, a hyperactive, enduring burst of awkward hilarity and imprudently cooked-up schemes.
