There's something about this that makes me think it's better as a set of really gross set pieces than it is as a version of IT. ...so much is lost from what I think of as the point of IT, that I'm not sure what this is really supposed to be about.

A twist start with a cruise control paced middle that blows you away at the end. Fantastic show I just wish we had more of pennywise at times.

A million year old origin story for Pennywise showcasing the Stephen King Universe. This is a great horror series as it is set in 1962.

This show is a credit to the Stephen King universe - the showrunners took the source material and created a terrifying, gripping story. The genius of this show lies in the intersection between the supernatural and the ‘real world’ fear. The entity ‘IT’ instills fear by drawing from the victims’ genuine fears and personal trauma, something we don’t often see in horror. The terror is targeted and personalised. The show is visually striking, with strong practical/visual effects and costumes that accurately represent both the time period and the characters’ individual personalities. The lore is well thought out and linked, remaining close to the existing material whilst also creating new mysteries, setting up for future stories to be told.
