This is a show definitely worth keeping an eye on.

The premise of the series is so provocative, [Christine] Lahti is so buoyant, and the experience, albeit a fictional one, of watching a young man maturing into a leader wins in a landslide.

It glows with warmth stoked by a fiery Christine Lahti as the boys' single mom.

Fine acting and eloquent writing make for characters worth caring about - and a rich viewing experience that resonates with big, muscular, American themes about opportunity, integrity and leadership like no series this side of The West Wing.

Viewers who elect to watch quality drama: "Jack & Bobby" deserves your vote.

High-minded and lovingly shot, the idea behind "Jack & Bobby" is more intriguing than the actual premiere.

It's a series that seems bold and different and as healthy as an apple, but also overtly manipulative and sappy. Sometimes good for you just isn't good enough.

"Jack & Bobby" is most emotionally effective when the lines that are drawn between Bobby's boyhood and his adulthood meander through unexpected oxbows.

The show doesn't back away from controversial subjects but treats them seriously.

The boys' present-day travails are intriguing enough without having to foreshadow their adult destinies. We have seen the future, and it's a big distraction.

It's too early to know how the brothers meet their fates, but as the story unfolds, "Jack & Bobby" has my vote.
September 23, 2019
Moments of misty patriotic yearning are leavened with sharp dialogue and self-mocking asides, including some at the expense of other WB series.
September 23, 2019
This is a show in which I have great hope.
September 23, 2019
Although there are definitely touching and poignant moments, the show seems to represent not a new deal but rather a very old frontier.

Smartly done and deeply felt, this should be something to see.
