To watch this is to insert yourself into a nightmare that cannot harm you and will probably teach you nothing -- so why watch it? Go to Full Review

Jimmy Savile: A British Horror Story affords a precise chronological timeline of Savile’s ingratiation into the culture at large, and the means by which that celebrity insulated him from suspicion and criticism. Go to Full Review

At times, it simply feels too monstrous to be spun into Netflix entertainment. This isn’t a horror story, but a dismal, incomprehensible tragedy. Go to Full Review

For true-crime fans, the show is worth a watch — though the details of the sex assaults and murders, combined with Gacy’s blithe sociopathy, can make for some gruesome viewing. Go to Full Review

Neil M @hoolawd 1d Exceptionally long-winded and inexcusably boring slog considering subject matter. No sense of rhythm, pace, build, suspense, edge - zero art in the service of what could have been a fascinating multi-layered piece - the raw material was certainly there. Was there no production money left for an editor? As it is, tedious, bloated, repetitive, too-long-by two-thirds, bludgeoning the audience for well over two hours with point that the world’s most obvious creep was well-ensconced in the highest tiers of British culture, royalty: GOT IT! MADE YOUR POINT AN HOUR AGO YET HERE WE STILL ARE. Ninety punchy minutes would’ve easily gotten us there. See more Nick D. @inonomus Feb 6 What happens when fame and power are backed by a corp that buries its horrors to keep viewership up. If you’re not from EU then this is an eye opening horror show about how a villain can hide in the spotlight like so many before but 100x worse. See more Samantha S. @SamanthaL Feb 3 Terrible. Never picks up, ultra vague. Weird British culture and intrigue. Makes me never want to see the UK again. See more wigi c @RT23089994 03/02/2025 In plain view! Glitter, Savile, the many more. Will we watch The Tate Brothers with our blindfolds on too? See more David F @RT34372367 12/23/2024 I thought this was going to be the thing with Alan Partridge, but it's a two-part documentary. It's fairly well-made, with the right balance of archive material and interviews with people who are actually relevant. I was expecting to see more talking heads, but it wasn't like that. The documentary also avoids the obvious "Eeh, 'ee were a monster" sort of reactions, and has some quite sad interviews with some of his victims, telling exactly what Savile did. Most of this is old news, but the thing that surprised me was the extent to which he had the police in his pocket. It also doesn't gloss over the fact that he was actually good at his job as a broadcaster. Well worth watching. See more Fifi d @RT48089667 11/13/2024 Terrible Terrible documentary....why spend most part of the documentary idolising this monster? and only talked about his awful crimes at the end of a 2 part series? totally useless and a waste of time..total rubbish See more Read all reviews
