The fifth-season opener examines threats to marine species, half of which may face extinction in the next 25 years due to global warming, sea-level changes, overfishing and destruction of their habitats. Included: salmon and sea otters in the Pacific Northwest; loggerhead turtles in Florida; emperor penguins in the Antarctic; and coral reefs of the Caribbean and Indonesia.
