Challenging her at every turn is Nina, a vain and superficial former model. Then there's photographer Elliot, a man who is very popular with his portrait subjects as well as other women. completing the core staff is her father's assistant, Dennis, a glorified secretary who is generally disrespectful to one and all.

Barely a kindly dollop of dialogue intrudes into the entire show. But producer and writer Steven Levitan ("Frasier," "The Larry Sanders Show") does have a wicked talent for sarcasm. Go to Full Review

With this intriguing mix of people and acting styles, right off the bat you know this isn't going to be just the latest addition to TV's slew of magazine-world sitcoms. Go to Full Review

NBC's new sitcom ''Just Shoot Me''... is valiantly determined to drain laughs out of basically pathetic characters. Go to Full Review

The series pokes fun at the fashion industry and high-society life, but it's the show's sharp-tongued wit and quick sarcasm -- both of which play to Saturday Night Live alum David Spade's strengths -- that make it one worth watching. Go to Full Review

Too many characters quip too wise, but San Giacomo has a nice way with a line, David Spade plays a good unctuous photographer and Segal is his normal exasperating self. Go to Full Review

See more Kim T @Kimchi871 09/21/2023 The cast of this show do an amazing job of bringing just shoot me to life with funny and over the top characters. David spade is the standout here as finch. See more 05/14/2019 From NBC comes the wacky sitcom Just Shoot Me. Season 1 follows a young idealistic journalist named Maya Gallo who goes to work for her father at his fashion magazine hoping to reconnect with him and make his magazine more socially conscous. Starring Laura San Giacomo, Enrico Colantoni, and David Spade, the show has a solid cast that has good chemistry together and delivers the fast-paced, broad comedy quite well. However, a lot of the humor is pretty lowbrow; stereotypical jokes about models and fashion, along with sexual innuendos and double entendres. Still, it's all rather tame and the heart of the show is the father/daughter relationship. Only 6 episodes, the first season of Just Shoot Me is a little rocky but lays the groundwork for a promising series. See more Read all reviews
