Kevin Hill: Season 1 Reviews

September 20, 2019
As a man who thought he had it all, Kevin Hill has a lot to learn now that he is not the center of his universe. How he makes that journey makes the show eminently watchable.

Kevin Hill may indeed have one of the most outlandish premises of the year. It's so contrived that it could just as well be a parody on Fox's The Mad Show.

Kevin Hill has enough going for it to conclude that the series has potential, beginning with its charismatic leading man, Taye Diggs.

In spite of the pretty, talented people, and notwithstanding the evergreen possibilities of man versus baby and a heaping helping of courtroom theatrics piled on at the end, tonight's pilot is a pallid hour, earnest enough yet lacking wit and realness.

Kevin Hill is well-written, but tonight's pilot episode would not soar if not for the charismatic Diggs.

Kevin Hill's [Taye] Diggs descends from feature films to flash his devastating smile on the small screen. He's perfectly matched with the 10-month-old baby girl, whom he unexpectedly inherits from his dead cousin.
