Critic Reviews for Key & Peele Season 4

All Critics (8) | Top Critics (3)

Based on the first two episodes available for viewing, the series continues to feature some of the best-produced sketch comedy on television, thanks to the keen visual eye of Peter Atensio.

With an amazing lineup of recurring characters and concepts that rival anything coming out of Saturday Night Live these days, Key and Peele is home to some of the most unique comedy on TV right now.

Given the success of the show so far... it would have been really easy to come back this season and coast. Instead, the duo and their creative partners decided to try something else. Key & Peele took a big risk, and it led to a huge creative reward.

After three seasons, Key and Peele have not lost their touch when it comes to racial commentary and the mockery of societal absurdities.

It's hard to pick highlights when nearly every sketch invites genuine laughter.

Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele are free to play and jab and throw a haymaker from time to time while talking about race, politics and poverty because they're just under the mainstream radar and that's where the best comedy lives.

Where there used to be a firm boundary between when we were watching Key and Peele and when we were watching them perform, now it's much softer.

Audience Reviews for Key & Peele: Season 4

Stereotypical. Uncle Tom type shhh

More laugh out loud shenanigans make this season stand out on its own along with the other amazing seasons

just a series of black jokes

These guys are amazing. The "car-trip" segments are a much more organic way to intro the sketches.

I loved MAD tv, this is even better.

Episode 2 was MUCH better than the first. The show still has a long way to go, however. The car bits still aren't nearly as entertaining as the stage interludes, and some skits still run with jokes for irritatingly long periods of time. However, I think Season 4 will EVENTUALLY rise to the caliber of the previous three seasons.
