If anything, this season is a little more off-kilter, especially as Eve dives deeper into the world of spies. The visit to the morgue, in particular, encapsulates the show's delightful inner wackiness.

Maybe Killing Eve is different because it's funnier. Maybe it's because it's made by women-or because murderous rage seems, right now, like a relevant basis for female bonding.

The show knows when to lighten the serious life-and-death stuff with a wicked joke or gag, and it knows when to speed up the electrifying action. And just when we'll been lulled into something resembling comfort, bam!

[Jodie Comer] has become the main reason for staying with Killing Eve, which otherwise has shown signs of becoming too knowing and too far-fetched for its own good.

Luckily, "Killing Eve" continues to deliver on its initial promise with sharp characters and even sharper wit.

Part of me isn't convinced. The other part is stronger, but makes no sense.

"Killing Eve" is full of that sort of wicked humor the British excel in.

If Eve is our frayed tether to reality, Villanelle embodies the entitled, otherworldly glamour of both being in her line of work and taking pride in it.
April 8, 2019
It seems like as long as the show continues to mine comic material from the feminine side of the spy world, "Killing Eve" will succeed no matter which woman is behind the wheel.

New spin for a new season, but the black heart of "Killing Eve" remains intact.

If nothing else, then, watching as the series manages and teases out this anticipation and uncertainty is reason enough to get obsessed with Killing Eve all over again.

Comer's Villanelle is funny, physical, and graceful. She demonstrates desperation and vulnerability so tangible to the audience that we find ourselves rooting for the otherwise abhorrent killer.

These opening episodes prove that the show's strengths remain intact, and there's good reason to be hopeful about what's to come.

Funny and whipsmart, "Killing Eve" Season two is as delightful as ever; a black-tinged spy thriller with an arch sense of humor.

[Season 2,] from the get-go... doesn't let up.

Oh's a devastating performer when she gets good material to work with, and Killing Eve Season 2 offers her a lot.

Killing Eve" deftly continues the cat-and-mouse game that made this BBC America series one of 2018's most pleasant surprises -- an espionage caper loaded with dry wit, dark comedy and two splendid central performances.
April 5, 2019
The new episodes reverberate with a sense of humor that's absurd, bleak, and distinctly British.

Oh and Comer are at the top of their game in this dreamy, off-kilter season which perfectly mirrors the tonal shifts from spy thriller chic to hilariously small-town and domestic.
