Eve's life as a spy is not adding up to what she had hoped it would be when she started. She is a bored, very smart, MI5 security officer who is very desk-bound. Villanelle is a very talented killer, mercurial in mood, who clings to the luxuries of her job. Eve and Villanelle go head to head in a fierce game of cat and mouse, each woman equally obsessed with the other as Eve is tasked with hunting down the psychopathic assassin. Sarah Barnett, BBCA president, says, "'Killing Eve' stands out in a sea of scripted stories as refreshingly entertaining and great fun."

What to Know

Critics Consensus

Villanelle's found religion in Killing Eve's climactic season, but this series has spun its wheels for so long that the thrill is gone.

Instead of something small but perfectly formed, Killing Eve has become one of those programmes that seems mainly to inspire the response, “Oh are they still making that?” Go to Full Review

The programme is entertaining, and no viewer will regret spending an hour or two with it. But it’s hard not to expect and want something more from a project with this calibre of performers; it shouldn’t just be “fine”. Go to Full Review

If anything, season 4 reminded us you can have too much of a good thing. Go to Full Review

Season 4 ignores some of the emotional progress made in its predecessor and theres no indication in the first few episodes as to why Eve and Villanelle are once again at odds with each other, or what happened to the tenderness displayed on the bridge. Go to Full Review

From the first time Jodie Comer pressed a knife to Sandra Oh’s throat, the sexy murder drama seemed to promise one thing. Frustrated fans are right to be disappointed. Go to Full Review

Konstantina R @kostakis Jan 20 seasons 1 and 2 where great, 3rd season was watchable but season 4? where they decided that the book wasn’t good enough and changed it to the worse is actually an insult to the writer, Luke Jennings who’s art and creation was ruined and along the fans who got us to watch all these seasons for that ending? only way of saving this is coming up with a surprise season 5 and fix this, from what i have read Laura Neal Sandra Oh and some the cast decided this, clearly should of just stuck to acting. Or fix their writing skills by making season 5. See more Francesco C @Frank1987 Dec 13 This shows became so much NETFLIX if you know what I mean. Awful!!! See more VITALII H @freakynickison Oct 27 I watched this show a couple of years ago and now I found out that I missed the final season. Thank god I found a quick recap for the 3 seasons I saw before because I forgot a lot of stuff. Now I finished it and I have to say that this is a great show. It's a psychological thriller about a government agent and a hired assassin who are at first cat-mousing each other but then they fall in love (that's how Sandra Oh (Eve) described it on the Ellen Show years ago). There are elements of comedy with the perfect timing, the writing was good although sometimes confusing but overall well done! The ending broke my heart. See more Ethan O. @EthanLikesMovies Jul 14 Such a disappointing ending to a fantastic show! I almost wish I didn’t finish the last 30 minutes so I could pretend it ended well but it just didn’t :( See more Annette B 12/15/2024 It had to at least half a star for the season start’s church scenes, it was just so far away from the season 3 ending’s trajectory. Regardless, the final build-up of chemistry for our two main characters’ relationship is beautiful and I loved the flashbacks to Carolyn’s past and getting to know her better. The ending—heartbreaking, but necessary. See more B H 11/26/2024 What a let down. A fun show then just went ridiculous. Not bothering with the rest of this mess. See more Read all reviews
