This show is slick and sexy with great characters and snappy dialogue.

Killjoys has just the right mix of guns, high-tech knives, assassins, cage fights, missions to hostile planets, dark secrets, tiny robot weapons and general space headbutting thrills to be the perfect treat for Friday nights.

The overall result is an edgy and suspenseful romp that does more than just frantically recycle tropes, making Killjoys one mosh pit you might want to jump back into.

Cursing, constant violence in alluring, quippy sci-fi show.

By far, the interpersonal dynamics and relationships between Dutch, Johnny and D'Avin are the most addictive part of the show.

Predictability wasn't Killjoys' big problem, it was the mundanity of it all.

It's not a show for everyone, but it fits the mood for late night summer binge-watching fairly easily, and its leads are charismatic.

I won't be a killjoy and force comparisons with other more distinguished space operas, but after so much grim tidings in recent fantasy fare on TV, maybe it's time for a lark.

Let's support this series now, rather than look back on it like Firefly and only come to appreciate it once it's too late.

Killjoys has its moments. It's an adventure in space, for pity's sake. It gets points for the premise, and it is indeed fun.

Like a fixer-upper house with good bones, a few light renovations may be all Killjoys needs to transform into something worth inhabiting.

Frankly, the only moderately ambitious thing about the show is the set design - immersed as it is in brownish hues and grunge - and even that feels borrowed from any number of sources blessed with more expansive budgets or simply a heftier dose of wit.
June 17, 2015
Despite its tantalizing premise, however, Killjoys isn't the space drama we've been looking for.

The combination of mutual admiration and simmering tension between the brothers gives the writers a lot to work with, and so does the planetary system in which the three operate, with its Mad Max bleakness and its unusual rules, written and unwritten.
June 17, 2015
Killjoy is a zippy, high-octane, low-intelligence way to kill an hour between episodes of denser, deeper shows without feeling like you've been short-changed.

It's an energetically raucous adventure that offers just enough fun to make one forget that there isn't anything particularly original going on.

It has enough "fun" elements to not be written off completely, but to call it anything more than "fun" would be false.
