There is no puzzle to solve in La Fortuna, no hidden messages, and that relative straightforwardness coupled with the actors' clinic put on by Tucci and Peters is enough to make La Fortuna worth retrieving from the depths of streaming. Go to Full Review

It's a very topical, hot-button issue that the series addresses, intelligently and not without acknowledging that its central controversy has two sides -- even if director and co-writer Alejandro Amenábar makes clear which side he's on. Go to Full Review

Consistently interesting, but never even slightly thrilling, other than occasional bouts of Stanley Tucci swearing and kicking things. Go to Full Review

Beyond having a good handle of tropes and clichés Amenábar also delivered in Spectacle, which alone would make this series worth its six hours runtime. Go to Full Review

Avindu G @RT86379654 Jul 13 A very rare theme that ventures into many interesting topics. And being inspired by real events adds so much more value. There's political, court room and detective drama in it and a cute love story too. Most importantly it's about how capital transformed the idea of state let alone empires. How everyone and everything rushes to grab a tradable share of an incalculable unknown. Clever acting by the cast to portray the cultural pride. Great sound effects and music. Excellent visuals. Flawless special effects. La Fortuna is not the type of drama series many of us come across so missing out on this is unwise. See more 08/06/2022 the 6 episodes could have been 2 or 3. Why the romance? goodish premise for a story but so hung out.......... See more pete w @Pete-W 07/13/2022 This film is primarily in Spanish with (tiny) English subtitles. Since less than half the dialogue is in English, I would consider this a foreign language movie. So beware if you are not comfortable READING a movie and would rather WATCH one! See more Brian L @Muton 02/10/2022 This starts out as a fun, quirky series. Enjoyable with mostly good performances. Then comes episode 4 and it completely turns into a progressive bashing of America with truely horrible acting. Such a shame as they were on a nice path. See more Read all reviews
