Tv Season Info

NBC's long-running procedural drama resumes its ongoing chronicles of the NYPD detectives who investigate homicides, and the District Attorney staff that prosecutes them, in this fifth series of "Law & Order." Returning characters include Det. Logan (Chris Noth), DA Adam Schiff (Steven Hill), Senior Detective Lennie Briscoe (Jerry Orbach), detective supervisor Anita Van Buren (S. Epatha Merkerson) and ADA Claire Kincaid (Jill Hennessy), while heavyweight Sam Waterston makes his series debut as Executive ADA Jack McCoy. Stories this series include: the owner of a stand-up (Larry Miller) and his possible implication in uxoricide, the complications that arise in Van Buren's life when she shoots a child in the back, a case where a drug addicted young woman winds up dead on the lawn of a day care center, a bombing at a construction site that leaves a 12-year-old child dead, and much more.
