Series Fifteen of NBC's hit procedural series "Law & Order" continues to dramatize the experiences of the detectives in the NYPD homicide division, and the DA office responsible for prosecuting the crimes that homicide investigates. Returning characters this series include: Lt. Anita Van Buren (S. Epatha Merkerson), Executive ADA Jack McCoy (Sam Waterston), and DA Arthur Branch (Fred Dalton Thompson), with Det. Joe Fontana (Dennis Farina) replacing Det. Lennie Briscoe. This series also witnessed two mid-season changes: ADA Serena Southerlyn (Elisabeth Röhm) is replaced by ADA Alexandra Borgia (Annie Parisse), and Det. Ed Green (Jesse L. Martin) is temporarily replaced by Det. Nick Falco (Michael Imperioli). Stories this series include the leaping deaths of two students who were both taking a dangerous anti-depressant; the demise of a radio 'shock jock' thanks to his romantic involvement with a mobster's lover; a child murderer's hit-and-run death, that leads McCoy to a shocking discovery; and much more.
