Series Seventeen of NBC's hit procedural series "Law & Order" continues to dramatize the experiences of the detectives in the NYPD homicide division, and the DA office responsible for prosecuting the crimes that homicide investigates. Returning are: Senior Detective Ed Green (replacing Joe Fontana), Lt. Anita Van Buren (S. Epatha Merkerson), Executive ADA Jack McCoy (Sam Waterston), and DA Arthur Branch (Fred Dalton Thompson); newly joining the ensemble are Detective Nina Cassady (Milena Govich) and ADA Connie Rubirosa (Alana de la Garza). Cases this series include: the mysterious death of an 8-year-old girl in a building explosion, a washed-up actor who drives while intoxicated and turns up at a rehearsal with blood on his clothes, an incident where a corporate attorney's body turns up in a hotel room, a famous producer who gets gunned down in broad daylight after adopting a baby from Africa, and many more.
