The British version of the long-running U.S. procedural crime-drama follows two separate yet equally important law enforcement groups, both tackling London's law-breakers. In the Metropolitan Police 's Murder Investigation Unit, DS Ronnie Brooks and DS Matt Devlin investigate cases including a child abduction, a nightclub shooting, and the suspicious death of a teenager on a busy hospital ward. Following the departure of Senior Crown Prosecutor James Steel (Ben Daniels), Junior Crown Prosecutor Alesha Phillips is joined by Jacob Thorne ( Dominic Rowan ), in her fight to ensure the culprits are brought to justice.
