"Perlman at the Penthouse." Violinist Itzhak Perlman performs with 31 of his students in a chamber concert at Lincoln Center's Stanley H. Kaplan Penthouse. The students, who are between 11 and 18, study at Perlman's summer program on New York's Shelter Island. "There's a great feeling of family" there, Perlman says. Part of the reason is that everyone participates equally---there and in this program, which includes excerpts from Tchaikovsky's Serenade for Strings, Bartok's Divertimento for String Orchestra, Bach's Concerto for Two Violins and Vivaldi's Concerto for Four Violins. Beverly Sills hosts.
