Sadly, this second season is dramatisation-only, which renders it an unconvincing horror anthology devoid of real factual interest.

Audience Reviews for Lore: Season 2

Season 1 and Season 2 are so different that they should have different titles. Everything I loved about season 1, like the narrating, was removed. This is an obvious case of new producers that came in with "Better Ideas" and completely destroyed a shining gem. It would be like having Tyler Perry take over the MCU. The change was that jarring.

All of the elements like Aaron's narration, the side stories, the graphics were all removed from the 2nd season. Everything that made Lore what it is was removed and just made for a poorly performed mini-series that I would be hesitant to call Lore.

I thought season 1 was great... it was the perfect union of fantastic historical facts matched with a story tellers gift, it was disturbing because it was so outrageous it couldn't possibly be true... could it? Season 2 = Pure garbage, nothing felt real, no narrator for historical facts, equivalent to watching evil dead 3 army of darkness with Bruce Campbell, its somewhat interesting, for a bizarre sitcom, but pure nonsense.

THE SECOND SEASON SEEMS LIKE A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT SHOW, AND NOT IN A GOOD WAY. iTS VERY DISSAPOINTING IF YOU LIKED THE FIRST SEASON CAUSE IT WONT FEEL THE SAME EVEN REMOTELY.

The format change destroyed what was an interesting first season. Removing the narrator and the group of vignettes around a central story as a mistake. Too bad. Couldn’t bother to finish the first episode. Won’t be watching the rest.

The total restructure of season 2 made this show less interesting to me. I miss Aaron Mahnke as the narrator. I liked the documentary type feeling in season 1 rather than season 2's dramatized episodes. Also, the episodes don't share the same. Type of content as the first season. It seems as though season 2 is shooting for a ""Black Mirror" type anthology based on historical events while season 1 was more of a narrated account of stories about monsters and legends in folklore. I was addicted to season 1 and I'm struggling to stay awake during season 2. In short, season 1 > season 2. Of course, this is just my opinion...

So disappointed with this season. The format has been changed to only actors telling the story with the occasional overlay of written information. This is not a critique of the actors as they do a fine job but the change away from the narration takes away from the campfire feeling of being told a ghost story. Sad to see that they felt the formula needed a change. If there is a season 3, I very much hope they return to the format of season 1.

Wow. Y'all done spanked Season 2 harder than a short, red-headed guy dressed up as a stewardess at an S/M club. Rightfully so. It didn't seem possible for the show to get any worse than it was in Season 1, but it somehow managed to double-down on the mediocrity while doubling-up on the schlock. It's the kind of tv season that only a corporate board could write (though I doubt that even they could actually WATCH it).

What made Lore interesting was its connections to other events with the narrative pointing out how one leads to another. Unfortunately season 2 is very bland without his naritive and the cut aways. If you want to be put to sleep then this is the show to do it.

The appeal of Lore has always been built on in-depth research of the subject matter. Season 2 veered too far away from the podcast’s model of presentation. This is more Tales From the Crypt than it is Lore.
