Field Trip

EPISODE:

TOMATOMETER

Critic Consensus: "Field Trip" finds Don Draper out of sorts and struggling to find his place, but ironically, the episode offers powerful evidence that Mad Men is on firm ground as its final season progresses.

Critic Reviews for Field Trip

This is the episode where Don gets served endless portions of humble pie... Our surprise is that he accepts all this as the price of admission back to the life he has nearly destroyed.

More active and engaging than last week's slow, almost stagnant hour. "Field Trip" takes characters afar to better reveal their home base.

Little Bobby Draper says, "I wish it was yesterday," and wouldn't you know it, the kid who never gets to say anything turns out this week to be speaking for everyone.

I never saw this coming and the dramatic tension it opens up is fertile ground. No wonder they don't leak any stories ahead of time.

Three episodes in to Season 7 of Mad Men, and if you were looking for a bigger, more dramatic "pow" moment, you got several Sunday (April 27).

Talk about awkward. Don goes back to the office at Roger's request and nobody's expecting him. Meanwhile, Betty's not winning any mother-of-the-year awards, but we do glimpse her humanity, if only for a moment.

What a wonderfully awkward, prolonged sequence that was watching Don go back to SC&P.
